POLICIES AND RULES-THE BORING THINGS WE MUST HAVE

Class Fees

• Payment in full secures your space in the class. Your registration in a class is not finalized until your spot has been paid for.

• No refunds or transfers will be made after your class starts.

• If you cancel at least 4 business days before your class is scheduled to begin, you will receive a full refund or transfer. For cancellations with less than 4 business days notice, refund and transfer availability will be based on if your space can be filled with another student.

Equipment Requirements

• Dogs must be on a 4' or 6' leash at all times.

• No retractable leashes allowed.

• Choke chains and E-collars are not allowed in classes, we do not support or condone use of this type of equipment.  We suggest flat buckle collars, martingales, Harnesses, and head collars

• Handler must bring a treat pouch that is ON them and many soft training treats for their dog

• All dogs must be handled by a responsible adult, children 14+ may handle dog if the dog cannot over power them.

• All handlers must bring a "mat" or "cot" for their dog to class.  This could be a bath mat, towel, dog bed or cot
• Dogs get thirsty too, please bring a small bowl and water for your dog.
• Some dogs prefer toys over treats, plan to bring 1-2 of their favorite toy to class

Vaccinations

• Proof of vaccination is required before the first night of your class.

• All dogs are required to have age appropriate vaccinations AND reference of a vet clinic that they use.

• PLEASE leave sick dogs at home!!

Rules

• Keeping your dog to yourself will help them learn to focus on you, rather than becoming overexcited by other dogs. Our classes are focused on your relationship with your dog in a public setting, not on social time with other dogs.  Please do not allow your dogs to interact during training time.

• Please potty your dog when you arrive, before coming into the facility even if they went just before you left home. You are responsible for cleaning up after your dog, both inside and outside.

• Classes involve walking & running, and require appropriate footwear. No flip-flops or sandals allowed.

• Please advise us of any food allergies or intolerances that your dog has. We use food treats while training the dogs.

• Instructors reserve the right to excuse any dog/handler team which may be a danger to themselves or others, is not in control, seems ill or injured, or is disruptive to the class.

• Please stay off your phone during class and be present unless you are taking photos-we love photos!

  • There is a zero-tolerance policy for anyone hitting, leash popping, yelling at or causing any kind of physical or mental harm to their dog. You will be excused from class without a refund. At Paw Partner Dog Training our dogs are part of our family and we do not punish or harm our dogs either physically or mentally.

Missed Classes

•If possible, notify us ahead of time if you are going to miss class.

• If your dog is sick, please leave him or her at home. You are encouraged to attend class without your dog, so that you can see what was covered in class and practice at home when your dog is well.

• If you are sick, please stay home!! We will be happy to catch you up, send you online lessons, or help you to reschedule your class if your absence is prolonged.

• At this time we do NOT offer in-person makeup classes, but we are more than happy to share the lessons with you via online videos and handouts.

*Private lessons that are cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be counted as a lesson taken, with the exception of Illnesses.

Breeder Policies

As a part of my commitment to rescue and responsible breeding any dog that is over the age of 2-year-old (3 for Giant breeds) will need to be spayed or neutered to participate in group classes UNLESS the owner can provide proof of registration and health certifications. Responsible breeders are always welcome to participate in classes however, responsible breeders have health certifications and registration for their program, Responsible breeders believe in preserving the breed not creating a revolving door of puppies. Dogs that cannot be altered due to medical reasons may still attend with a note from their veterinarian. (Note guardian dogs do not apply to this policy)

"Outside Only" Dog

Paw Partner Dog Training believes that dogs are a part of our family, therefore we do not provide training services to owners that only house their dogs outside.  If you would like to help a dog transition to being an "inside" dog instead of an "outside only" dog we may take these on a case by case basis.
